Discovering Keyword Research Phrases - Part 2

In this part 2, let’s we go to next step which is Keyword Research – what exactly does it mean? It means discovering keyword phrases that not only attract the right market, but convert well and help you attain a high search engine ranking, by using some right combination of word that other peoples not use it.

This is some common Mistakes in Keyword Research:

  • Bypassing Research – never assume you already know which keywords to use.
  • Using Technical Terms – remember customers aren’t as familiar with the industry as you are.
  • Search Engine Results - Mistaking a high number of search engine results as a good keyword.
  • Intent Of Buyer - Not considering the intent of the buyer (browsing, comparing, buying)

Always remember that the keywords selected must be the most fitting keywords for product or target market. The number one ranking in Google for the wrong keyword can be disastrous leading to poor traffic, high bounce rates and low conversion rates.

How Long Should a Keyword Phrase Be?

Specific keyword phrases range from two to four words and normally see higher conversion rates. And it also better to use long tail keyword using some combination 4 to 8 words. To select the best keywords, se the following list:

  • Brainstorm Keywords – come up with two and four word combinations it also can be long tail keyword 4 to 8 word.
  • Focus – don’t focus on keywords with a higher search volume, focus on keyword phrases that will attract your target market.
  • Avoid – one word keywords
  • Competitors – determine which keywords people use to find your competitors or similar sites
  • Think Like A Buyer – use words potential customers would use to search for your product. You might consider specific technical or medical names or terms, but a buyer may use a slang term. Shoppers often search by the benefit to be gained, rather than the actual product or service name.
  • Content First – it’s a good idea to write the content first, make it conversational, credible and persuasive and then go back to the keywords and phrases.

Keywords are King! I made the mistake of trying to pick good keywords without analyzing the traffic and potential when I first started. What a lesson.
